It makes it easier to find and discover channels based Channel Info, Language, Location, Categories, Tags & Topics. Users add tags to YouTube channels, creating a flexible and evolving system of labels based on what people find useful and relevant. This approach helps organize channels in a way that reflects user interests and makes it easier for others to discover content.
The aim of Nectarines is to democratize channel classification by enabling users to collaboratively define and refine the tags that describe a channel's content, themes, and topics. We embrace the fluidity of social tagging, making it easier to track trends, discover niche content, and organize channels according to user-generated vocabularies.

Nectarines uses the YouTube API to enhance channel discovery while complying with YouTube’s data policies. Only YouTube channel IDs are collected to build the Nectarines dataset, with added classifications like Channel Account Type, Location, Language, Content Type, Content Category, Topics, Tags, Age Rating, and Content Flags to refine relevance for searches and filters. Identicons are included as unique visual representations for channels.
